rainy departure: day one
I awake with great anticipation of a sweet adventure ahead of me. Last evening as I roll into "camp" I came across a ruffed grouse. Normally I would not take so much attention to such a feathered friend. But, recently, I have became a hunter. For sure, I bought a shot gun and went hunting.

pre-trip prep: night zero
Hustled all over D town these last few days finalizing preperation, and am finally glad to be North. I am spending night zero at Britton Peak along Sawbill Trail near Tofte, MN. The office which holds my pass into the wilderness has closed for the evening and will reopen the next morning for me to obtain my permission for entry. It's actually well into the night and I will be sleeping in the back of my Ford with the Bell Magic for cover, (please see photo.)
A midnight hike to the top of Britton Peak brought on a spectacular view of Great Lake Superior directing the moonbeam my direction and lighting up the mountains around me. Mountains? Oh for sure, The Sawtooth Mountains. Looking forward to awaking and getting this solo adventure started.
Just one last Moose Drool.
